Overwhelmed with day-to-day operations?

The principal engineers of CANATUS Engineering Group (CEG) started their careers as maintenance engineers in the oil and gas industry.  We understand how it feels to constantly operate in “firefighting mode” where decisions are time-critical, and it feels like there is never an opportunity to thoroughly investigate problems or focus on long-term solutions.  CEG is your partner ready to provide both short-term relief and long-term reassurance.  We offer support with both proactive and reactive solutions, including the following:

Proactive Support

  • Employing Fitness-For-Service technology to: determine equipment remaining life; optimize inspection intervals and inspection scope; as well as provide go/no-go criteria for engineers and inspectors in advance of inspections.
  • Establish safe operating limits for equipment considering the applicable damage mechanisms, such as the following:
  • Minimum pressurization temperature (MPT) or minimum allowable temperature (MAT) limits to optimize equipment startups and shutdowns and ensure safe operation for all operating and upset scenarios.
  • Maximum temperature limits to achieve the targeted remaining life considering creep or high temperature hydrogen attack (HTHA).
  • Frequency and magnitude limits for load fluctuations to achieve the targeted remaining life considering fatigue for equipment operating in cyclic service.
  • Improve design or develop alterations to maximize equipment reliability and ensure maintainability throughout the life of the equipment.  This may include practical guidance on design feature modifications and/or it may involve leveraging advanced design-by-analysis principles to address complex geometries and loading conditions.

Reactive Support

  • Leveraging Fitness-For-Service technology to guide run, repair, or replace decisions for equipment found to have damage or defects.
  • Executing or facilitating Root Cause Failure Analysis.
  • Engineer PWHT layouts to prevent distortion, buckling, or excessive residual stress.
  • Developing detailed repair scopes for implementation by owner-operators or third-party repair contractors.
  • Reduce "waiting on engineering" backlog list.
